Our adventure continues at the library, where a world of imagination and knowledge awaits. Together, we gather to read stories, explore new books, and enjoy the library’s special play area and cozy little tent that encourages creativity, pretend play, and a lifelong love of learning. One of the children’s favorite traditions is choosing books to check out and bring back to childcare, where our learning continues long after our visit.

One of our children’s favorite activities is using our colorful dot markers. While they are having fun creating, they are also strengthening fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, color recognition, concentration, and early writing readiness. Every activity is carefully chosen to make learning exciting while helping each child grow through play.

No two lesson plans are ever the same. Each day brings new opportunities to explore the alphabet, numbers, colors, shapes, animals, body parts, emotions, seasons, science, nature, and the amazing world God created. Each day is filled with opportunities for adventure as children slide, swing, climb our jungle gym, race on tricycles, bikes, and ride-on cars, kick balls, and strengthen their bodies through active play. Imagination comes alive as they build stories with playhouses, baby dolls, trucks, cars, airplanes, toy chainsaws, leaf blowers, and weed eaters, creating endless opportunities for creativity, problem-solving, and cooperative play.

Our outdoor sensory bins, sidewalk chalk, and nature-inspired activities encourage children to explore textures, colors, and the beautiful world God has created. Even snack time becomes a special memory when enjoyed outside in the fresh air, surrounded by laughter, friendships, and the wonders of nature.

Building More Than Towers at Tiny Hands Childcare, LLC

At Tiny Hands Childcare, LLC, learning comes to life through hands-on experiences that inspire creativity, confidence, and teamwork.

Today, our children worked together to build an incredible magnet tile tower that reached over 5 feet tall! What may have looked like simple play was actually filled with meaningful learning opportunities that supported every area of development.

For nearly two hours, the children remained engaged, focused, and determined as they designed, built, rebuilt, problem-solved, and encouraged one another. They practiced independence by making their own decisions, while also learning the importance of teamwork by communicating, sharing ideas, taking turns, and working together toward a common goal.

Throughout the activity, we also explored:

• Counting and number recognition as we counted tiles and measured our progress.
• Color recognition by identifying and sorting the different colored tiles.
• Hand-eye coordination while carefully placing each tile to keep the structure balanced.
• Gross motor development as children reached, stretched, squatted, and safely moved around the building area.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving as they discovered what made the tower stronger and more stable.

Just as importantly, we discussed safety awareness. The children learned to stay out of the “crash zone” in case the tower fell, helping them understand how to recognize safe spaces, follow directions, and think ahead while participating in exciting activities.

Over the course of the afternoon, we built multiple towers, each one becoming taller, stronger, and more creative than the last. Every attempt gave the children another opportunity to learn from experience, celebrate success, and try again when something didn’t go as planned.

At Tiny Hands Childcare, LLC, we believe some of the greatest learning experiences begin with a child’s imagination.

Today, our classroom transformed into an exciting amusement park as the children worked together to create their very own roller coaster adventure. Using only their chairs, they carefully arranged each seat, even turning one sideways to resemble the design of a real roller coaster. With a roller coaster video playing in the background, their imaginations took over as they leaned, laughed, and moved their bodies with every twist, turn, and drop, fully immersing themselves in the experience.

What may look like simple pretend play is actually meaningful learning in action. Through this creative activity, the children practiced problem-solving, teamwork, communication, spatial awareness, and critical thinking while strengthening their gross motor skills and body coordination. They learned to work together, share ideas, and bring their vision to life using creativity instead of technology or expensive toys.

Watching children confidently create, imagine, and explore reminds us that learning is most powerful when it is joyful. Every laugh, every movement, and every new idea helps build confidence, independence, social skills, and a lifelong love of learning.

Discovering God’s Amazing Creation Through Nature

At Tiny Hands Childcare, LLC, we believe some of the greatest learning opportunities happen right outside our door. Today, our little explorers discovered something truly amazing—a cicada and its shed exoskeleton! As we learned about insects, we talked about how cicadas grow by shedding their outer shell before emerging as beautiful winged creatures.

At first, some of the children were unsure and a little nervous about getting close. That’s completely natural when experiencing something new. But as they watched their friends explore with confidence, their curiosity began to replace their fear. By the end of the day, every child was excited to gently hold the cicada’s shed shell, ask questions, and celebrate their discovery.

These moments are about so much more than bugs. They teach children courage, confidence, observation, patience, and a love for learning. They discover that trying something new can lead to excitement, understanding, and joy.

Most importantly, these experiences remind us of the incredible beauty and detail found in God’s creation. Every insect, every leaf, every flower, and every living thing reflects His creativity and purpose. We are grateful for the opportunity to help children develop a sense of wonder, respect for nature, and an appreciation for the world God has created.
